When you have to do laundry, the space for the ritual might as well be as inspired as the rest of the home. As this laundry room is off of the 2nd floor hallway it can be seen easily when the door is open. The design vision was to have the laundry room be beautiful and functional and visually connect it to the home’s design. Bold, vinyl gray patterned wallpaper creates impact against the white, crisp custom cabinetry, while being resistant to moisture. A rod positioned between the upper cabinets allows for air drying clothes. A vintage style slop sink nods to the house’s 1920’s origin, while tall custom cabinets at the entry provide for linen storage. The space is also equipped with a rolling hamper and a hidden ironing board. A clear glass lamp adds extra light for seeing stains and makes the space more welcoming as it sits on the clean white countertops used for folding. A textured throw rug further enhances the room’s warmth and homey appeal.
