We first met with KAM Design as we were planning a major renovation of our 1907 Tudor home. We immediately identified Kim as someone we wanted to work with because of her vision for our project, professionalism, and exquisite taste. As two working professionals, we had limited time to seek out and select the multitude of items needed for a renovation, such as tile, fixtures, paint colors, cabinetry, etc. Kim and her team worked hard to provide us a curated sampling of each item, and helped us find the right one according to our tastes and budget. Once we completed our renovation, Kim then helped us decorate our home beautifully. Her excellent communication, well-organized materials, and commitment to our project made this process a breeze. She helped us create family-friendly, comfortable, and stunning spaces throughout our home. KAM Design also helped coordinate deliveries and installations, as well as the occasional return/exchange. Kim has been invested in our project from Day 1, and we cannot imagine trying to do it with anyone else.

KAM Design was an excellent choice for our interior design needs after a huge renovation. During our hiring phase, Kim's references were excellent and, after working with her, we saw why. After several consultation meetings, Kim got a quick feel for our tastes and she was on point with with her suggestions throughout the project. She regularly provided us options for furnishings, colors and designs that made it easy for us to pick what we liked. On the rate occasion we didn't love one of her options, she quickly pivoted and provided new suggestions. Our traditional house needed a modernizing update and Kim hit the nail on the head in every room she worked on for us. The custom millwork looks great and is so useful for our everyday needs. And her furniture suggestions were practical but look wonderful. Her work was very professional through the process: quick responses to our emails and calls, on-time arrivals for meetings, easy access to her via phone and email and an overall pleasant demeanor. Kim Mitchell of KAM Design is a superb interior designer with exquisite taste who is easy to work with and very efficient. We moved into a 1930's large colonial almost a year ago and hired Kim after interviewing several designers.
Kim chose all the paint colors, rugs and wood floor stains. She selected the lighting fixtures including layout and type of lighting. She worked with our electrician to make sure everything was installed properly. She worked with our contractor in designing an archway between two rooms and renovated bathrooms. She checked all work performed by all tradespeople.
Kim decorated our living room and dining room as well as furniture dispersed throughout the house. She created a sumptuous dressing room for me with beautiful custom cabinetry. Kim picked out a magnificent front door that beautifully complemented the stone facade of our home.
Kim always gives you several choices at various price points. She has wonderful taste which she blends with your inner style. She is very reliable and gets back to her clients immediately. I am a busy working woman and when I was unable to be home to receive a delivery or rug installation, Kim arranged to be there. She made everything easy and I never had anything to worry about. Everyday when I come home from work, I thank Kim for making my home beautiful, elegant, livable and very warm.

We engaged Kim of KAM Interior Design on a complete renovation of our 3 BR co-op to bring our property up to contemporary design standards. We hired Kim as designer as well as project manager for the construction works. We selected Kim over other designers for her ideas and portfolio and because she is a local resident and knows the local landscape. Having experience and knowledge of the town building codes, we trusted her to always be in compliance with regulations including the rules of our co-op. She has great relationships with all trades, contractors, and vendors which delivered great outcomes in terms of quality of work and adherence to scheduling. Using CAD modeling techniques, we saw different design ideas unfold in print well in advance of demolition and construction. Whenever a deviation from original plans was needed, Kim gave thoughtful alternatives ensuring everything to look perfect. Our project was complex. Walls were taken down or moved to create two larger bathrooms and an expanded kitchen. In addition to the design space, she took care of every detail from furniture, custom wood work, appliances, lighting, window treatments, plumbing fixtures, tiles, counter tops and paint color. Transitioning from a house to apartment-living, we needed lots of storage, which Kim gave us in very smart uses of the space. The transformation of our property easily added 40-50% value over what we paid for the apartment. Working with Kim was a real pleasure. Kim A. Kim did an amazing job on our renovation. She was outstanding to work with from the very beginning, guiding us through the process and figuring out our style when we weren't even sure what that was--and the result was just perfect. We moved toward a more open concept in our main living areas, redid our living room (including a fireplace) and dining room, turned a pantry into a master closet, and converted an attic room into a playroom. Kim helped with re-imagining and designing the spaces from the big picture and structural to the lighting, finishes, and furniture. She worked seamlessly with a number of contractors and handled all of the coordination of schedules, contracting, and follow up. She handled everything with poise and a smile. I wouldn't hesitate to work with Kim again, and I highly recommend her for anything from a major renovation to smaller project!

Kim is a superstar, an absolute professional with meticulous attention to detail, a broad base of knowledge across every aspect of design, a cheerful demeanor and seeming inability to get discouraged or frustrated no matter how challenging the project. We hired her to help us design our custom dream home, 4 major rooms in the house plus 3 bathrooms. We brought her on board while the house was still in the initial construction phase, so she was able to have input into details like millwork, direction of door swings and placement of plumbing in the bathrooms. She seems to know everything, from the best light fixtures to fabrics to when an infinity drain would work best in a bathroom. Our project ran WAY late and we had a very difficult/challenging builder, yet Kim kept her cool with him at all times and even saved us some major headaches by catching mistakes and running interference between us and him. As it turned out, we ended up working with Kim for almost 2 years by the time the project was done, and I have to say while it was very expensive, it was worth every penny as we are constantly enjoying (and receiving compliments from friends) on the many details Kim selected and helped us implement! I'm only sorry we basically used her for our whole house, so we don't really have any need to use her again... until we move :)

Kim is a true professional with a great eye and appreciation for original artwork. For this project, she purchased an original work on paper for a client and worked with her framer to customize a frame that not only makes the artwork pop but also perfectly complimented the steel console above which it was hung. We hired Kim to design our basement. It was a scary, dark, rock-walled hole (with a partially finished bathroom in the middle) before she put together plans to fix and finish it. It is now a bright, happy space with a properly located bathroom and a re-worked central heating and ac system to allow the headroom for actually usable space. Kim not only came up with all the designs, but she also came up with a solution better than what we originally asked for and worked with the town to submit a variance for ceiling height, because our available height was not to code. She did a great job and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her.
